XI1I overcurrent time and short-circuit protection
As universal overcurrent protection, the XI1I of the PROFESSIONAL LINE from SEG electronics (formerly Woodward) is generally used in ring and radial networks and is suitable for the following applications:
- Selective overload and short-circuit protection of electrical machines, lines and networks;
- load-dependent connection and disconnection of loads and power generators.
The XI1I meets all the requirements of IEC 60255-1. It is possible to select from the following tripping characteristics:
- independent time overcurrent protection (UMZ)
- dependent time overcurrent protection (AMZ) with selectable tripping characteristics (Normal Inverse, Strong Inverse and Extreme Inverse).
In addition, the XI1I can also provide backup protection for comparator and distance protection devices.
We offer the device in the following configurations: XI1I1and XI1I5:
XI1I1: For connection to standardized 1 A CT's
XI1I5: For connection to standardized 5 A CT's

- DIP switch for 50 Hz / 60 Hz changeover
- Includes a full version of the Smart view operating software for downloading
